Facilitator’s statement:
I began making 5” x 8” collage cards with a group in November, 2006. I admit to fighting through a lot of self-judgment to make my first card. But I soon felt completely safe, as there is no “right way” to do this! Once my mind quieted down, images started speaking to me from the pages of magazines and catalogs. After that, making cards became this delightful game of listening and learning from each image that presented itself to me while I held an intention for the coming card.
Part of me watches in awe while my hand is guided to choose -- first, images, and then, the combination of pictures that sings. Finally, I stand back in awe and listen to the profound message the card speaks to me. This work reveals “the hidden side” of my life to me in ways that continually surprise me. Making SoulCollage® cards brings me joy, healing, growth and inspiration.
