When I make a personal SoulCollage® card, I am choosing to make myself aware of something inside of me. It could be an aspect of myself I want to celebrate, or heal, or stretch into. The point is: I want to become more conscious of it. I want to learn something about it I don’t already know. I want to get a feel for it and work with it. I want to own it, shift it, try it on.
The cards I make help me do just that. Here is my process: (1) make them, (2) name them, (3) speak through them, (4) journal about them (5) display them. At some point – you’ll know when – they are “cooked” inside me, and then I put them into storage.
I also make SoulCollage® cards about other people or about my Spirit Guides. In this case, making the card is an act of devotion in which I seek to know the person or entity more completely by choosing and assembling images that speak to me of their lasting qualities. Again, I name and journal about the card, always aware that what I see in others is, in some way, also a reflection of me.
