Ann Hughes helps people connect, with joy, to their own inner wisdom. Her tools include sound, color & images, divination, spiritual healing & ritual, co-active coaching, SoulCollage®, and friendship. She works individually with people using sound and shamanic healing, and she facilitates Dragon’s SoulCollage® Circle.
Ann has been on the healing path since 1980. She first explored “understanding her mind” through human potential work, but came to realize that something else was needed for deep healing. In 1982, she met Linda Brady, a karmic astrologer who awakened her to the spiritual meaning of life’s challenges. For several years, Ann studied karmic astrology with Linda and later with Darlene Bruland. Fortified with a new understanding of Divine Order, Ann decided to take on her biggest life challenge: finding the daughter she had given up for adoption back in 1966.
Ann joined the adoption reform movement in the mid 1980’s and, late in 1988, began her search. She credits finding her daughter in the Spring of 1990 to: (1) asking for help from the Spirit Realm, (2) doing her own inner work to clear her mental and emotional barriers to having what she said she wanted, (3) asking for help, everywhere, and (4) following search suggestions offered by her adoption reform friends. She wrote about her miraculous, life-changing search in SoulConnection: A Birthmother’s Healing Journey (1999).
Ann became interested in shamanism in 1998, first studying with Christina Pratt, where, through The Cycle of Transformation, she experienced shamanic healing, ritual, and how to use creative process for healing and transformation. Ann completed apprenticeship with Christina in 2008. She also studied the art of shamanic healing with a teacher trained by the Foundation for Shamanic Studies (2002-2003) and continues her shamanic training with Sandra Ingerman and Betsy Bergstrom. Ann currently offers soul retrieval and other kinds of shamanic healing.
In 2006, Ann completed the co-active coaching program with The Coaches Training Institute, and in 2007, she became a SoulCollage® facilitator. She combined these two skills in 2008, when she created Dragon’s SoulCollage® Circle, specifically to show others how to do their personal healing work using creative process.
Ann also offers Sound Healing sessions. Having been a choral musician all her life, sound healing comes naturally to Ann. She received sound healing work from Ed Rothwell for several years and has been in his shamanic drumming group since 2001. She has trained with other sound healers as well, including Jonathan Goldman, Edie Jemiola and Patricia Norton. Ann works intuitively using toning, crystal bowls, drums, rattles, bells and other sound tools.
